Ok, so i'm tearing down one of my 3.4's... I have it down to just about the bare block, but I'm having trouble getting the cam out. The problem is, the pseudo distributor plug/oil pump gear wont come out. I have all the bolts off of it that I can find, but it just rotates inside its hole in the top of the block. Am I missing something? The cam won't come out yet until this thing is gone.
How do I get this thing out of the block? Pull, pry, spin.. am I missing a bolt?
Thanks for the help..

That's how I got mine out, channel locks on the lip and pull/twist as you wiggle the cam forward. Put the cam gear bolts back in to give you something to grab ahold of.
cool.. thanks guys.. I'll try that tonight.. I just didn't want to start pulling on anything that wasn't meant to be pulled on...
thanks again..
