Do any of you think it would benefit me better if i just bought another 3.4 and a 3400 engine, so i could just swap parts and know where everything is at? Or...buy the parts separately. I'm going to buy another 3.4 regardless because i love driving my maro around. Thanks.

all depends on the deals you come across.. if you have another car to drive, you can buy the 3400 components and rebuild the 3.4 in the car. If you do not have another car to drive, it would probably benefit you to get a 3.4 block, crank, and rods (as well as main caps, and a fwe other assorted things..) to fill with the 3400 stuff (heads, intake, pistons, etc..).. if you go this route, you can pull odds and ends of your current car while you are swapping the engines (oil pan, motor mounts, etc. )

yeah, most of the stuff on the bottom end can be used, with the exception of the 3.4 pistons. due to the combustion chamber sizes on the 3400 heads, you need to use their pistons or you'll be at a very pump gas unfriendly compression ratio (i recall something around 12-12.5 or so..)
