It seems to me that everybody here either use Megasquirt or FAST, thats it sort of.. Why doesnt people use Electromotive, Autronic, Motec, Halltech or something other?
I just wonder, because most people around here uses that.
A friend of my uses Electromotive (old type), its real simple. You have a MAP sensor, a TPS sensor and a IAT sensor, crank trigger, and maybe a water temp. And thats actually it! Basically the same as an 3.4 has stock, but this is adjustable... duh...!:) And
The engine it`s on is an 1.8 liter 4-cylinder, 16 valve VW engine.
It been turboed, and dynoed 288 hp and 411NM, works flawless!
And theres some other stuff i wonder about..
Since i live in Norway there is of course a lot more smaller engines over here than what most on this forum is "used" too..
So i am used to small engines from 1.8 liter to the "big" ones like 3.8 liters.
500+ hp 2.3-2.5 liters is not unusual, of course they are turbo engines!
An example is Vidar Strand, a fameous engine builder up here..
BMW M5 E34 3,8 - 1129bhp / 833ft.lbs torque
BMW M3 E36 3,9 - 1422bhp / 1186ft.lbs torque
Those are of course a bit extreme engines though..:)
But an N/A aspirated stock M3 3.0 liter has 286 hp
and a 3.2 liter has 321 hp
What i mean to say is that our small V6 engines should have a great potential for HP! And i know that the M3 among others has less horsepower in USA than europe because of stricter pollution demands, at least some years ago.. :)
By the way I am a BOW-TIE man!! AND i love Cubic!
Just so you know that I do not mean to be "mean" or anything..
For example my dad is putting in a new engine in his Vega this winter.
An aluminum Tall deck big block merlin 620"...
And I am working on my 55` Chevy 210, building an 383 whit a BDS 6-71 blower!
Just so people know that i am not into say anything wrong here!
wow, this was long..
