You can use an exacto knife to trim the gaskets bigger, but the 60* motors have a metal LIM gasket available that is quite a bit larger then the stock (or standard FelPro's). I haven't done a whole lot of research on the 90* v6's to be able to answer that.
oo ok well maybe then i will just trim the gaskit in that case. thank you so much for the info i can't wait to get a pair of heads so i can start the project. i am hoping to have everything i need and done by summer the only think i might not beable to get hp tuners and that is kinda the factor i am looking at because after it is all said and done it will need to be turned up. o well we will see what happens. thanks man.
you do not do a valve job yourself. that must be done by a shop that has the proper equipment to do the job right. Check around at local machine shops and performance shops to see who they use and you might be able to find someone who'll do that for a decent price. A lot of heads use a 3 angle valve job, but the 5 angle really helps flow...
a 5 angle is only good for another 3% if your really lucky
edit: by the way you can do a valve job your self how do you think they did if before computers magic?

The right equipment is still needed to keep the valves symetrical/concentric. I recently looked at equipment, and as long as you know how to dress the stones, it should be a simple task, actually.
ok i just got done reading the posts. now with matching the head to the lower intake manfold on a 3.8 what gaskit would i want to use to match the the two up just like what forced firbird was talking about? and that is what i wanted to do must match the entrence not the whole port so the velocity will stay the same.
port matching only isn't worth doing.
e.g. if a fully ported head gains 25 cfm, port matching will represent ~5% of that - 1.25 cfm!. why would you remove the heads and do all that work for a 1 cfm gain?! and enlarging port area WILL lower air speed.
as well, i guarantee that you won't need to buy hptuners for that (although stock vehicles can use a good tune). also, plastic gaskets (as opposed to aluminum ones) will insulate the intake, make colder air, more power, etc.
as for a cam...yes they're a very good mod on their own. zzp gt1 cam advertises 20-30 bhp. a lot quicker, cheaper, and more power than port matching! it'll tide you over for a few months until you get headers.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
