  • Removing broken fuel rail bolt

When I put my 36lb injectors in about 3 years ago, I broke one of the fuel rail bolts off on the passenger side, the one closest to the front. I pretty much snapped the head off. So it still sealed to the lower intake manifold. Fuel rail and injectors still worked fine without it bolted down. I want to switch out my upper/lower intakes and heads. I got the kit drill out which I'm going to try to use. If that doesn't work what would be my altenatives?

Fuel rail is good, I just need the bolt out, so I can remove the upper intake. My only Alt. if I can't get the bolt out is to drill it out, but I think it would damage the lower intake manifold as well, which I don't mind since I'll be putting on another set of upper and lower intake manifolds and heads. But I would rather save the manifolds if I could.

Drill her out as dead center as possible keep goin bigger if u get lucky it might (stress might come out with the drill kit or you may be able to pull it out in pieces)... worst comes to worse drill it out the next size bigger and tap her on a drill press once u get her out im sure any local machine shop could do that for next to nothing... Alot of those drill kits work fairly well u just have to be careful. goodluck

If you damage the threads, you could also drill it out a little wider and install a helicoil. I don't recommend this but it should work. Just throwing out another idea.
