I agree with most of you about the ZZP deal. A vendor is only as good as the manufacturer that supplies them.

Those aluminum heads been on there forever. I looked into it, the cost is way to high. When you get a good business going, you dont need a website really. People want to see what there getting in person lot of times. ZZP is so overated, most the stuff they dont even make right there. All they know is how to sell parts, dont belive me just ask them a tech question.

if you want people from around the country to buy your products you need a website, there is no way around it. And how are they suppose to make things like their own springs, retainers, superchargers, and everything else. Every parts supplier has a warehouse where they get most of their products from. Do you make your own valves, springs, spring retainers, gaskets, oil, and everything else you are doing with your heads? I think not. So please, if you think a great place has to make everything then they would not be in business because it does not make good business sense nor is it affordable to do everything in house.

Sure you can port/polish items inhouse as well as assemble engines, but the aftermarket parts for those engines are not going to be custom made in house...you have no backbone to your argument there.

Oh yea does summit or jegs make their own parts? Just curious.

Summit and jegs dont claim to design and make everything. ZZP says most everything is made right there. They need a website only thing keeping them going, because they never get a repeat customer. Even to flash the ECM is sent out they dont do it there.

What are they claiming are made right there that is not?

hmm, that is odd, cuz the last time I was their they had quite a few people there buying stuff. Oh yea and they have their own dyno and tuner on hand, they don't send them out anymore like they did originally. Times have changed. As for repeat customers, lol, where are all the grand prix and fbody people getting their parts from if there is no repeat customers, the grand prix scene here in MI is quite large and most of them are rocking zzp stickers and a few intense stickers on the back windows.

Jegs and summit do put their name on products that are not theirs though, and mark it cheaper when in fact it is just a name brand company making them for them to advertise as their own.

So when are you going to be making your own camshafts? Cuz it would be a shame to send out to CompCams to get one ground for your top secret race car.

                    Re: performance heads, intake manifold?

ill jump in just to say i have delt with zzp since 1999. only problem i ever had with them was refunding a core charge. they had a problem with thier credit machine and it took 4 days longer and i got a message from zooomer explaining the whole thing along with 10% off my next purchase. i built my whole 12 second gtp off zzp parts. everything they say they make in house they really do. i have met with the guys when they came to dynotech for a gp mod day. they post every number off all of thier parts. they have a dyno and a supercharger dyno. do you have the desktop dyno you get your numbers from? the dhp thing was a bad seen. zzp made up for it with thier own pcm and powertuner. they also will update tuning profiles if you have poweertuner by email. just send them the info you about what you just installed and they will send the batch file. intense i have heard bad things about. didnt use thier parts so i couldnt tell you from personal exp.

being a possible vendor for parts and claiming the number 1 company that makes parts for the 3800 is crap without supporting any of your own numbers pictures or customer cars/support will not make you a better company. companies come out with nearly identical things not from stealing but from proven design to make things work better.

back to the original post if you want heads email zzp about the setup you want and your goals. they will hit you back with the best solution. oh and if you need backup to support anything just go to www.clubgp.com. about 95% of the cars there run zzp parts.

I've lurked through this whole thread and you truly do not cease to amaze me, at first I thought the things you say could not be any stupider. Then you continue to lose credibility with each rediculous post you make. Seriously do yourself a favor and just step away from your computer until you have cold hard facts to make SOMEONE believe you.

I have bought many things from ZZP, Never had a problem yet. Also have given me good advice and very honest, even stopped me from buying over a $400 dollar purchase, I didn't need. So I say for my experience with them has been great.

do you actually MAKE them or do you come up with the grind numbers and a company grinds it to your specs for ya? There is a difference there

I look forward to seeing the results and video though, don't get me wrong on that.
