You should get a manual and torque everything properly, more problems may arise from not torquing them, BTW the 1.6 rockers change your cam characteristics (duration .208/.214 lift .420/.436) so it should be a help in higher RPM.

I believe its 18lbs, and I didn't feel like reading 14 pages so I just put it up there.

Its the most straight forward thing in the world, its pretty hard to screw up a pushrod and rocker install. Just torque them down.

I used the thumb/forefinger spin method on the pushrods to determine zero lash, then the 3/4 turn. But otherwise that's pretty much it.

You can't just "torque down" adjustable rockers.

ah so once u cant spin it with your fingers then its at zero lash and you do another 3/4 turn right?

can i use engine oil to lube everything up?

you can, if they aren't new lifters than it doesn't matter.

Correct, when it gets tight and won't spin then stop and do your 3/4 turn from there. Make sure the pushrod is centered and fully seated in the lifter/rocker.

You don't want to use anything real heavy that could clog up the lifter or pushrod, oil has to squirt through there. Yeah, regular oil will be fine.

thanx, do i lube up the rocker arms and top of the pushrods as well?

I can't wait to get those intakes in so i can finally get this thing done.

                    A little off topic but...

what do you think about me wire brushing and/or sanding the ports on the UIM and LIM ? just to clear out all the junk mostly, that tooth brush method takes forever lol.

Also, about that stud that is still stuck in my EGR, do you think i should jb weld a nut on top of it and try to get it loose again with a socket?

i would (while you are waiting on the intakes) take the manifold off and bring it to a machine shop and get it done right so you dont mess it up. your heat shield is the gasket so no need for new gaskets.
cant wait till my lt1 and nitrous.

                        i don't totally understand....

btw, the manifolds i would be sanding are the ones i am currently waiting for, but i would take both the upper and lower intakes to get done by a shop if you think it would add any gains. any idea on cost for the upper and lower manifolds?

Hrm, a toothbrush and some kerosine in a pan worked well as my parts cleaner. But yeah if you want to dremel them out yourself or have a shop do it, I'm sure it can't hurt. Just make sure to clean them out real good afterwards.

I doubt JB Weld will hold a nut on there well enough to get that out. A real weld might do the trick. Did you check around for a stud extractor?

ooo sorry camaro 9407, i gotcha now. Well now that i have everything out of the bay, theres certainly enough room to drill down there on that stud.

No zahn, i looked around for a stud extractor and i couldn't find one. (i work at Home Depot and we don't have any) and online, i'm not sure which size to get. Would you have a link to the correct stud extractor?

If i end up drilling that stud could i simply drill a hole through the stud, then put a bolt (small enough to fit in the hole) and a nut and just tighten the nut down real tight? or would I have to rethread the hole?

                                thanx

btw, i will try kerosene next time, the brake cleaner doesn't do very much.
