sorry for the lack of progress guys, i might be purchasing a new LIM off a board member but we'll see.
I'm also probably gonna pick up some comp pushrods just for the heck of it, i mean 30 $ aint bad at all.
I've resolved to do at least 1 thing every day in the progression of getting this thing done. I went outside, brushed the snow off my car and took out the old rocker arms and pushrods. They looked great with no signs of wear or defects. Even the pushrods looked completely straight, but i'll replace those anyhow cuz i'm and addict =)
Just waitin now on some mulah so i can buy the comp pushrods, possibly a new LIM, and hopefully soon those shiny valve covers.
I was going to take out the spark plugs to replace them anyhow (even though their like 4 months old), like i said i'm an addict, but i couldn't even get the plug wires off, they're practically glued on there. Yes i probably could have gotten them off, but not without a chance of breaking a wire, and considering they're new as well i didn't want to chance it.
Turns out to be a good thing now that i took off that LIM otherwise i wouldn't have a very good way of adjusting those rockers.
As always, there is a few new Q's up for grabs.
1. whats the best way to get the LIM gaskets off of the head?
2. When adjusting the rocker arms, i'm supposed to be looking at the lifters right? well what exactly am i looking for? just some movement or are they going to start to go up or down ect.?
3. Finally, whats the best way to get that black RTV off of the valley there where the LIM sits?

got it off ebay for 60 dollars shipped. There are a # of reasons this is a huge relief to me.
1. The LIM has the connector piece in tact ( i broke mine ) that you all know about so i will now use this new LIM in my car.
2. the plenum that is also coming will be great because for 1 it comes with a bolt that i need for the throttle bracket and also cuz i broke off part of the MAP sensor on my old plenum and i also broke off a piece of the plenum where the EGR hose connects.
needless to say this is great news for me.
I will clean up the manifolds when they get here, probably paint the upper one, then swap my old fuel rail to the new plenum, then it will be clear sailin from there, oh i'll also be putting my shiny new P&P throttle body on there as well =)
heres a pic of what i'm getting

kinda funny... the thermostat neck actually looks like it has a bleeder screw on it... i wonder if they added that in 1995
I like the upper polished manifold lol, is that what you plan to do?
i would if i knew how to polish it, i don't have any kind of polishing wheel or anything, i'll prolly just clean it up and paint it like my first one, but it will be a heck of a lot easier cuz this time it's OUTSIDE the car.

i just ordered the comp high energy pushrods off FTPP for 40$ shipped to my door. They will go well with the comp roller rockers.
hopefully i'll have the new UIM, LIM, and pushrods all here by the end of next week, then we can seriously start to talk about finishing this thing up =)
still got to get valve covers, but that will be the week after =)
so now that i'm planning the install here shortly, can someone go into detail about the procedure of installing these pushrods and rockers?
In my mind it goes something like this:
1. remove stock pushrods and rockers (done)
2. lube bottom of new pushrods, place in the guides and slide them down into the lifters.
3. seat the new roller rockers on top of the pushrods, making sure they are lubed as well, and then tighten them slightly with the nut making sure they seat properly.
4. turn the crankshaft with a breaker bar to TDC, then turn it fully one more time and tighten down the available rockers, then turn it fully a second time and tighten the others down, making sure to do a 3/4 turn once all "play" is gone which is determined by wiggling up and down on the pushrod.
5.have a coke.
sound ok? anything i leave out? what should i lube everything with?
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
