    1)run Autolite 606 plugs, the stock heat range
    2)make sure you have a DAMN good tuner who knows how to tune the **** out of the VE table to smooth it out as much as possible.
    3)keep all of your stock emissions equipment.
    4)Advance the timing at cruise and idle. I made a hybrid table with the 2004+ Grand Prix GTP's and L36's in order to keep the 28 or so degrees of commanded timing at WOT, while managing 44-ish degrees of timing at cruise to help the MPG.

    cross your fingers and hope you pass the sniffer. It has a lumpy idle. I had one in my old 99 Camaro and just tuned a 2000 Monte Carlo SS with one and got it to smooth out rather nicely, but if you listen you can definitely tell the car is cammed.

      I realize it has a lumpy idol...thats what I want...but this is also my DD and emissions here is required every 2 years via the sniffer...so I NEED it to pass emissions...this is a huge deciding factor on getting this cam....the guy installing it would be tuning it, and apparently he is one of the best F-Body tuners around...atleast according to the guys over at Ls1tech.com

        Move to FL...

        lol just kidding, but what about maybe having two separate tunes? Load the tune that will hopefully pass emissions right before you need to get it tested, and have the performance tune.. this is assuming you have HPT.

          I'd be getting it dyno tuned...Id have the original PCM but I doubt the car would even run with that since I hear it misfires and wants to die unless tuned...I abosolutely 100% need the cam to pass emissions if I get it...otherwise I need to be looking into a different cam, or forgo getting one...

            Idk man i've heard it can go both ways.. half the people have no problems and it runs fine... obviously it will be better with a tune, but some people's idles too low and dies.

              but will that cause the car not to pass emissions?

                    cars arent inspected by the "sniffer"

                    they use the OBDII port

                      you will get a check engine light for random cylinder misfire

                      CEL=fail emissions

                        no ours are sniffers still...otherwise I wouldnt be worried...OBDII tests you can almost get away with murder...
