i've been seriously considering rebuilding my engine lately. my engine doesn't need a rebuild or anything it's just that i've been reading up on swapping 3500 heads & intake to a 3.4. i was thinking that to minimize down time i could get a junkyard 3.4L and strip it down to the block. get it hot tanked, bored, etc. throw some federal-mogul hypereutectic pistons (11.5:1 cr?) in it...
basically rebuild the whole bottom end .020 over and throw a big cam in it, then bolt the 3500 heads & intake on it.
i've helped swap engines & rebuilt dirt bike engines etc. so i think i could do everything aside from machining by myself (and the support of this website haha)
first off the inevitable noob question haha
how much horsepower would a setup like that yield? i'm thinking like 225-250 rwhp but i really don't know
and more importantly, would i be able to build that ^ engine for less than $2000??
