  • Whare did you find 3400 parts?

I know there's a few people who did the 3.4 top end swap Whare did you get your 3400 top end? I know I could check a junk yard but it would be nice to find some reman parts that I don't have to pull my self, and maby get a core for the iron parts I pull.

150 per head and 100 for the manifolds(got them at a parts yard, not a u-pull so the price is kinda high) I got the fuel rail and other parts free cause they gave me the wrong ones...twice

Contact Forced_Firebird, he is in the process of putting together kits and can help you source any individual parts you may need.

Also with the advent of the new 3500 engines these heads have been shown to improve over the 3400 design and can be used without changing the pistons.

Without changeing pistons? That's exatly what I need. That's the motor in buic rondevews right? Ill try to find those heads and lower intake and use the 3400 upper intake.

I believe it's the LX9 engine, pretty sure they were in 04-05 Malibu but don't know what else. I know there's a VVT version of the 3.5 and I don't think those will work. Like I said, contact F_F for confirmation. You will still need tuning, the CR is around 11.5 IIRC.

                  11.5:1 with 3.4 pistons, wouldn't do wihtout a tune.

04-05 Malibu's cam with the non-VVT3500's and a few others as well (Equinox, Impala, Rondevous? unsure which got which in what years). You can use the VVT engine complete if you want to go through with a full FWD swap, but it's not easy, and lock the cam in place.

We were talking about you. So I ether have to buy a whole motor and swap the whole thing or buy the top end and a mega squirt and figure out how to hook that thing up? Or is there some other way to tune my crappy computer.

And I think I was going to use a crain cam but I can't find one for the 3.4 on the web site. Is the 3500 swap as complicated as the 3800 or lt1 swap?

Converting a FWD motor to RWD? Starter needs moved to the other side and motor mounts must be fabricated.

In that case ill stick with the top end swap.

Out of comp, crower, edelbrock, and lunati what is the cheepist? Priceing cams is hard.
