  • My plans for the engine, suggestions/comments

    I bought some spare heads, LIM, and UIM for my car and i plan on doing a bisc port/polish on them.
    When i am doing the heads, i plan on getting the following..

    stainless valves
    comp-oe lifters
    hardended pushrods

    how hard is it to pull the heads? and what is required to pull the heads?Do i need pull all the valvetrain componets out of the head in order to remove the heads?
    and if anyone can give me a list off all the gastkets and hardware i would need to pull the heads, LIM, and UIM that would be great

    the first time i pulled heads it was hard, now I can probably get them off in 2 hrs.

    first time ~5-6 hrs with some small brakes.

    gaskets:
    cyl. head gaskets
    upper intake
    lower intake
    throttle body

    tools:
    regular sockets and socket wrenches
    valve spring compressor

    other parts:
    *parts you listed*
    rocker arm bolts


    as long as your in there why not some rockers or a cam? (for the cam you'd be over halfway there)

      i already have 1.9 rockers and 105 springs.
      do i need to pull the rockers/springs before i pull the heads off?

        no, you dont, but i would pull the rockers off to make it easier to pull the head.
