the zzp stroker kit was junk and couldn't handle any more than NA power. Crank was snapping. The 3800stroked kit is made by a company in Australia and they are the reseller here in the US. They can handle big boost on the hi-po kit that is 8.5 comp. ratio
2000 Firebird.. Whisper lid, Custom exhaust, FRA mod, MSD Coil packs, MSD wires, TCI 3000 stall verter, TSP mail order tune. No times as of yet waiting for the track to open
I'd go with the stroked 3.8 just for the cool factor, plus the money you save from not having to buy a ls1, new radiator, tranny etc, you could put on a supercharger.
I looked into doing an LT1 swap for my 94 a while back. To swap a V8 into these cars you need to change A LOT of stuff. Not only the engine, harness, and computer, but front crossmember, radiator, add a cooling fan, front shocks and springs, transmission, and don't forget guage cluster (tach won't read right). To do the swap you're really better off buying a wrecked donor car. If you bought the parts separately you'd be spending a boat load. Plus, unless you're buying a brand new crate motor, you don't know how much the engine was beat on and a rebuild would probably be in order. You'd be in to it for $5-8K by the time you were done.
I vote stroker. How sweet is it to beat a Stang GT and let him know he got beat by an N/A V6.
