no they don't, you can get low compression or high compression kits.
FWIW my engine that I am getting built up right now has 10.28:1 pistons and I also went with thinner MLS cometic gaskets to bump the compression up even more. Abbott stage 3 heads will be mated up to the engine. I have 93 octane around here and will be running nitrous :)
come on man, hes talking about raising the compression... i know they offer strokers both ways, its just... with the stroker you can get a high compression version. i was givin him a heads up about that. different possibilites and all.

yea but the stroker hi-compression is 10:1 not 10.5:1....little bit of a difference there
just trying to prevent mislead people as others will be reading this and thinking they can find 10.5:1 strokers. Don't need wrong info being spread about things thats all.
Upping the compression will hurt your pocket book though as you have to use higher octane gas. MPG I do not know how that is affected.
no no...I just want to do my heads and cam...if I can pick up a few extra ponies from upping compression then I'll do that as well since its not much more work just millin the heads...
you will benefit from the added compression. although i have no idea how much you may benefit from it. just keep in mind clearances and what not, you should be fine. i personally wouldnt (thought about it before) but thats just me.
yea, I personally was kind of against it (mainly cause I dont know much about it), but the guy at the shop thats intalling my stuff said I should since I already will have the heads off...mine as well take what I can get right? I think that as long as its safe to do I'll do it.
You cab probably only go up a few tenths of a point by milling the heads. The higher compression will help the cam. You would pick up more with ported heads. A 160 Tstat will be a must to keep the detonation down. As well as a tune before you run it hard.
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
