  • 1.9 rockers on a stock engine

Well guys I'm thinking of selling my wheels and getting a set of 1.9 rockers from intense or ZZP. My car has 108k miles on her and she is starting to lose her pep a bit. Question is, will the rockers drastically reduce my gas mileage? How hard of an install is it for a trained mechanic and should I replace anything else while my mechanic is doing it? My current mods are...SLP loudmouth exhaust, custom intake, and Spec stage 2 clutch. I was thinking of just getting a bare bones NOS dry kit, but I dont have the money for the Window switch and the TPS and all that safety jazz you guys recommend. I'm basically looking for the most beneficial performance upgrade for around $300 or less. Thanks in advance.

Won't affect gas mileage that much, if any. When I did this, I got the kit from Intense Racing. Came with roller rockers and pushrods. I got new springs and retainers as well. Springs are highly recommended if you don't feel like floating valves at the higher RPMs, and since you have a higher mileage engine. Just to replace rockers is cake. The springs are a little more time consuming, since you have to setup so you don't drop a valve.
