once you remove the balance shaft you have to plug the rear right? how do you do do that?

Balance shaft IS there for a reason, GM would have spent millions on them in all of the 3800s if it wasn't.

The cam gear on the double roller chain is twice as thick, which requires you to remove the gear from the balance shaft to fit it. If you leave the shaft in, you are fine, just remove the gear. If you pull the shaft out, you need to plug the oil hole. Your call.
I have heard both on the milling, but I haven't put in a double roller yet so I can't say for sure based on personal experience.
