so i am planning on running 1.9 ratio rocker arms with a stattama stage 2 cam. the cam yields a 515 lift with the 1.6 ratios with a 1.9 i am looking at 611 lift. i was wondering if anyone has ran this much lift. i would like to go with less ratio but the pro magnum rockers are the only shaft mounted set up and it only offers 1.9.

Can't do it with out some major head/valve work. Max lift on stock is ~.550, with ZZP's modded retainers and valve locks, you can run around .580 IIRC, but there's no way you'll pull .611 without some head/valve modification. Either go rockers or cam, can't do both.

And also the most lift possible doesn't always mean the best performance from what I've gathered anyways.

for real...figure out what you want to do: either have a rocker car, or a cammed car...then do the proper research. Don't just buy chit willy-nilly

you also have to worry about piston to valve clearances... when valves touch pistons, they usually take out everything.... if you run aftermarket heads to accept the high lift, they usually are milled a bit just to ensure flatness, you also lose that amount of possible valve clearance..

            Re: cam lift

yeah you cant run that kind of lift on stock heads... ive heard the max lift that stock heads can allow is somewhere around .515, but the retainers zzp offers it gives you an extra .03 clearance, so with the cam you are interested in, 1.6 ratio rockers, and zzp's retainers, you'd be just fine. but there is no way you would be able to run 1.9 ratio rockers with that cam with stock heads or your piston is going to be running into your valves = bad news.

i say get the cam and lightweight 1.6 roller rockers.

well i wanted the shaft mounted set up and it is only offered in 1.9. i have flowed each cylinder on a flow bench and i get pretty much the same flow numbers 5.15 and up and i have milled the heads and done all the work to accept it myself. but it looks like it is futile to run that much lift besides causing alot of valve train strain issues. by the way with modded zzp stuff i measured how much i can get and its .555 i have it all and measured it myself.

If you wanna go with less ratio, then do it, but I don't think anyone here has ever milled the heads out and done research to run a .611 lift, but I don't want to speak for everyone. Let us know how it works out!
