Meatyshells helped me all day today( pretty much him doing most of the work) putting in Comp 105lb springs, steel modded retainers and Comp hi tech pushrods. I had some Intense lightweight pushrods in their before, but some said their were defects in them. So we pulled the first one out from the #1 cyl. , and it was bent. I think most of them had a curve to them so they weren't straight. This is about 5-6 years with them in. Got everything done and fired it right up. Running great, thanks again Meatyshells(Ryan). So anyone with lightweight pushrods , I would check them. Now I'm upping my shift points to 5900 to 6000 rpms.

Re: Comp 105lb springs/pushrods installed
I finally got to my springs tonight, not enough time to do more than 2 though. My dad is so encouraging, keeps tellin me somethings gonna break. Hey meaty, why don't you fly out to ohio and do the rest of mine? I'll give you a beer :naughty: Eh?

Re: Comp 105lb springs/pushrods installed
I'm sure Meaty needs to heel up after my install. But I'm sure he could do them blind folded now.LOL I ran my car today out to Mayo about 45 miles one way. Car feels alot better on the throttle, running about .2-.3 richer then it was. I'm taking a guess that since the pushrods were warped they weren't letting the lift to come all the way up. Or is it the stiffer springs? Does that sound right?08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: Comp 105lb springs/pushrods installed
How's that work since your valves are now opening how they should? Got a wideband in there? As far as I know, putting new pushrods in would just let more air-fuel mixture in seeing as your valves can now open properly. You'd think you would have the same mixture seeing as your valves weren't getting all their lift before... Hell if anyone else can explain it I'd like to know too.

Re: Comp 105lb springs/pushrods installed
I have a PLX-300 wideband in there, maybe it was just the weather(I don't know) , yes if someone does knows alittle more about it, I would like to know.
P.S. I just cleaned up the light weight pushrods and looked to see how bad they were, 8 out of 12 were warped pretty bad the other 4 seemed to look alright.Last edited by ssms5411; 03-14-2008, 12:58 AM.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
