    Closer:

Got everything back together and nothing happened when we cranked it. Figured lifters hadn't settled yet so we let it sit for a few minutes. My uncle came over to help my dad out while I went to work, and I come home to that. Apparently, when I put the cam gear on, it slipped abit when I hit it with the impact. I had it lined up, but you can look at the gear and about 1/4 to the side there's now a groove where the key dug into the gear cuz it rotated abit when I tightened it down. I get home to "We've got bigger problems" :(. We start pulling everything apart, get intakes off and see 6 bent pushrods :(. Pull driver's head and see that. I'm in the market for a new engine now. Stock one is going back in; I'm done building up mine, I'm going to stick with our track car (if we can ever get it running).

Good new: Me, my uncle, and my dad had the motor ready to be pulled in about 1 1/2hrs :) (if our timing was right, not entirely sure when we started). Found a used 3.8 w/25K for $550 locally; sounds perfect :). Throw in a cam and some headwork and I'm set :P

Well the one in the close-up is a lightweight low compression piston. They're still in the trial phases :P Not sure about the others, but I don't think they're stock (appear to be lightweight with floating pins and low-tension rings; or so I've been told).

I didn't buy them. They were in the motor. I bought the car, then went in to fix a spun bearing and though the pistons looked aftermarket. I guess not. Just bought a new motor today. Came out of a 99 Camaro; has 25K; looks brand new; good compression, etc; $550! All the junkyards had some with ~100K for about a grand more, so figured I'd go with this one. Picking it up either Wed or Sun, most likely Sunday.

But where is the rest of the piston? Did you pull it out the top, or did it break apart and fall down into the pan?

broke apart and fell down. Valve beat it to death, and then the remaining rod beat the valve to death :P
