Anyone know the ID, OD, spring height, etc of our springs and/or LS6 springs? I'm looking around locally for a set of valve springs, and asking for LS6 springs isn't exactly cutting it :P. So, anyone know the dimensions?

Re: Valve Springs
summit has the specs on the comp 105 and 130 lb springs

I don't think it lists the free length, but for stock springs 1999 and earlier is 1.981 inches and for 2000 and later it's 1.960

Are those stock LS6 Springs? I didn't think they were double springs; the ad says they are, even lists ID for both springs, but the picture only shows a single spring.Last edited by RadRacer; 05-08-2008, 04:05 PM.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

Re: Valve Springs
yeah, weird. the pictures i've seen were not double either. i think summit might have messed up.
i understand why after some research. GM part number in '03 was 12565117, in '04 was 12565313. Now is 12586484 and for a package of 16 is 12499224.
EDIT:
Also found this. Looks like there are multiple LS6 springs.
"2001 LS6 springs had a blue stripe for .525" lift superseeded by Yellow stripe on the 2002 springs and puke green color stripe on the 2003 LS6 valve springs rated for .550" lift"Last edited by IDoVoodoo; 05-08-2008, 08:38 PM.

Re: Valve Springs
I like the air fitting for the spark plug hole, I wish I had that when Meatyshells and I did my springs. On one or 2 of the plug holes it was difficult, we finally ended up buying a 90degree adapter from ACE just to get to them I had only the straight air fitting for the spark plug holes. Re: Valve Springs
Meaty, don't quite think they'll work :P. 1.8's is the highest I can run, and that's with modded retainers, and locks from ZZP, and it's still slightly above their recommended limit.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~
