im getting ready to piece together all the things ill need to install a cam and want to make sure i get everything.
Im not going to need springs/retainers/valve gaskets
would zzp's install kit #2 give me everything i need?
Yeah. Looks good. I totally broke the threads on my camshaft bolt trying to use the old one when I did the double roller install.. so that took longer waiting for a new bolt which was a little tricky to find. Wish I did the camshaft while I was in there but I have something to look forward to next year. With that said, if you haven't you should put a double roller on while you're in there :)
Those 3 kits from Advance Auto will have everything you need, minus a timing chain and dampener. They're just under $100, IIRC. Thing with the ZZP kit is it's designed for the FWD cars, so the intake manifold gaskets may be different.
I reused my old crank and cam bolts and you won't need rocker bolts; run down to your local auto parts store tomorrow and price the three kits I told you (need upper intake, lower intake, and timing cover) and compare the price. It may be easier, cheaper, and smarter to go with the kit from Advance Auto than the kit from ZZP. Then all you'll need is the timing chain and dampener ($70, IIRC) and some lube (for assembly you queers :P)
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
