i dont think thats whats causing my car to not run.

see the car runs ok, ( ok enough to drive it)
untill it gets up to temp, then it runs really crappy and doesnt want to idle or start.

Got it to my friends house to tune and see whats going on. Find out that im getting a TON of Knock Retard pretty much maxing it out. Which would explain why my car was turning off when the car got up to temp.

We messed around with it for a little while and got the knock down. But it still doesnt want to idle right or drive right.

Im thinking i messed up on the degreeing of the cam when i installed it somehow.
so we are going to see if we can tune around it tomorrow

The abbott cam has a pretty violent lope from what I heard, that's probably whats registering as false knock. When I asked around I was told that cam is pretty hard to tune so I'm surprised you even got it to drive without a tune.

Did you use a dial for degreeing the cam?

Oh, well good thing you've cued me in on that. Nevermind that I have the same cam as you, and had the same exact problem when it was first installed. Nevermind that, even when adjusting the tuning, the problem still persisted. Nevermind that, after just plugging to LS1 injectors, the problem stopped even with the car running pig rich. Nevermind that, after the tune was adjusted to reflect the larger injectors, the problem never resurfaced.

Nevermind all of that, because you said, you don't think that's what causing your car not to run

alright, well ill try the new injectors.
what lb are the ls1 injectors? or whear might a find some equal injectors with out having to order them.
              would gtp injectors work?

how was your afr with the stock injectors? cause with my stock injectors, the car is running about 15.2-14.7 at idle and around high 13s when driving around. My car is getting fuel

On an LS1 fuel system, they're 24 lbs
                EDIT: or 26.3
                would gtp injectors work?
GTP's would work, bear in mind they're rated at 36#

Don't know, don't have a wideband and my HPTuners doesn't read that

and the injector load duty is...?

Also, keep in mind your new cam generates much less vacuum than the stocker you just pulled out

                  Re: problem after cam install

I saw a good drop in vacuum with the VS cam, normal is around 20-22 at idle, with the VS cam it is about 16-18. Also if my 36lb injectors are seeing 60-70% duty cycle at WOT your stock injectors are probably 100-120% taking a guess.

but at idle? im not too sure the injectors are working too hard at idle

That is true but you are getting more intake flow at idle with the new cam, so you will need to adjust for it, you need a wideband on there it would be so much easier to tune it.

I missed that, so it is tuned at idle. I don't know then, I hope you find it out.

I think that someone needs to do my tuning when I do my upgrades.
                            good luck meaty

What are you using for your wideband? 13-1 AF/R is way lean! You want to be around 11.5-1 to 12-1.
