  • general question

hey guys i'm thinkin bout cammin my 3.4 and having the heads p&p'd by a pro. before i really undertake this thing can anyone ballpark a hp increase for me (so i can decide whether or not this is worth the time and money)

my car has full bolt ons and 1.6 roller rockers. I'm planning on doing the same exact cam, locks, retainers, timing chain springs, etc. as Funkz if any of you are familiar with his build up.

so can anyone ball park a power estimate for me? i honestly wouldn't be able to guess.

    thanks! :wavey:

    Re: general question

Well, if you're doing the same exact set-up as him, you should be around the same ball-park as him. You may dyno a little more or a little less, because each car will respond differently to different mods. As for how much HP increase or estimated dyno numbers, I have no clue.

        Re: general question

IMHO I dont think its worth it. Even if you made 15rwhp its still wouldnt be worth $1000. If you had something to tune or a power adder maybe...

            Re: general question

You would need to be able to tune to take full advantage. I would guess 10 rwhp on an otherwise stock engine.

Might as well add a nitrous kit if your wanting some more HP for cheap, You could just add a 50 shot and you'd have more HP than what you were going for and it would be have the price or less. Ya I'm addicted to the juice, missed my AA meeting this month.LOL

yep... IIRC you have most/all the supporting mods already... so i would just add a small 50 shot dry... but you also have to pay for refilling the nitrous bottle which can be expensive depending how ofter you use it...

Probably cheaper than that, just look around on different boards and ebay. Just make sure you don't go cheap on saftey mods for the kit.

I have a dynotune dry kit I will sell you for $200. Comes with 50/75/100hp jets. I used both the 50hp and 75hp jets on my 3.4l and it worked well.

do you have all the parts for it or just some? i'd be very interested in purchasing it.
