Re: over adjusted valves
i want to say that ive read because its a hydraulic lifter setup, if you tighten down the rockers a little too much, any excess tightening will cause the lifter to compress a little and shoulnt matter.
i tightened my rockers without doing the tdc method and i had no problems. just a couple turns here and there on each one till they were all tight.
i think its something like you want to have 3-4 threads showing over the nut, for the 3.4l.
though i think my lifters are going since its since started ticking again.<a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2265676\" target=\"_blank\">95 bright red camaro 3.4l</a>

Re: over adjusted valves
please explain to me how one decides that its no additional work to adjust valves while doing a t-stat?
soinds more like you decided to do your t-stat while you were adjusting your valves lolY87 Package

Re: over adjusted valves
of course it was extra work it was slow so i figured i would pull the intake to do the t-stat and adjust the valves all my rockers we loose enough to wiggle with the valve closed i think only one cylinder is over adjusted my manual says tighten till they dont wiggle then 3/4 turn
maybe the increase in power is from the valves acctualy opening all the way vs how loose they where

just so wrong.
you'll be wasting fuel and by all means you car should have less power.
but they did loosen up again after a short while.<a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2265676\" target=\"_blank\">95 bright red camaro 3.4l</a>

omg epic fail.
u need to turn the engine to tdc, adjust half the intake and exhaust valves, then rotate another full turn then do the other ones. Otherwise u will have valves open when they should be closed and shut when they should be open.

B. Tightening them won't increase power, they were built to tolerences, and unless you built the engine and did so incorrectly, they were fine where they were, the change wont make a difference.
