Custom Grinds

I'm looking for suggestions on where to go to for a custom ground cam for a 3.4l. I know there are a lot out there but I was just wondering if anyone on here has had good/bad experiences with some of the companies.

Also if any of you would like to give your input on the specs i'm looking at using it would be appreciated. These are the numbers with 1.6:1 RR.

Seat-Seat Duration:
Intake: 250°
Exhaust: 265°

.05" Duration:
Intake: 220°
Exhaust: 226°

Intake Centerline: 107°

Exhaust Centerline: 114°

Lobe Center Angle: 110.5°

Seat Timing:
IVO:18°
IVC:52°
EVO:66.5°
EVC:18.5°

.05" Timing:
IVO:6°
IVC:34°
EVO:42.5°
EVC:3.5°

Its going in a 3400 hybrid running 12.38:1CR on e85. If you have any suggestions on changes i might want to make I'd love to hear them.

i'm running a cam slightly bigger...with the 1.6 rockers its 107/110/.220/.230/.484/.512

that is a weak cam for the compression you are running

edit* can our engines even hold up to 12.38:1 compression, that seems like an awful lot to me

on e85. You can get away with more. I guess they sell plenty in Ohio? I never see e85 stations around where I live

I forgot to add that its .480" lift for intake and exhaust. I shouldn't have any problems as the stock connecting rods are forged in the 3.4L's. And yeah there are plenty of e85 stations around here. Two here in town, at least one in Norwalk where I race, and most of the Kroger stations in the area either have it already or are planning on getting it within the next year. Plus it runs $.50-.60 cheaper then 87oct around here.

dude you have a 3.8 no a 3.8 can't handle that on a stock bottom end.......but a 3.4 can, being we have forged internals from the factory

yeah its one of the few things GM got right with the 3.4L

i just had an offer yesterday that could make things really interesting though. My friend got 3 no2 kits for free as payment for some body work he did and he offered one to me. I really think i could hit low 13's:drool: if not better with a 75 shot in this engine, but I really, really don't want to find out what a melted piston looks like:eek:.
