sure would save a ton of cash and would have been great to learn how to do it myself, but i need the car for work and there was prob no way i could do it in the short amount of time or with the quality of work from the shop its at now.
600 buck would be nice to do some more mods, but to be honest im not even sure what mod to do next. I think im gona start saving for a trans rebuild/shift kit and a nice stall converter (vigilante stall - about 800 alone right there and atleast another 800 for the rebuild, oh and then a trans cooler too). Mine has about 150k on it and I dont want to have to worry about it anymore. Plus id like to take it to the track one day and see what it will do (Maybe low 15's) without have to worry if im gona blow up my trans.
put down some dyno #'s when your done with the cam, since our mods are practically the same and i'm planning on the same setup as you.
will do, ive never had it on the dyno nor do i know of a place around me that can do it but ill ask my local club and get some numbers for ya when i get the time. I might throw an underdrive crank pully on their just cause it might give me an extra pony. Im curious to see what kind of numbers it puts down. I know it wont be anything crazy and even if the numbers are well less than 200 ill be happy.
Just got a call from my mechanic and hes got it all apart and he said everything looks good inside (not that it wouldnt but always nice to get a phone call). So only a few hours and its all apart and u know they were goofin off at the shop too cause they have a good time when they work.

haha sounds like fun.
if you get the underdrive crankshaft pulley be careful, it might underdrive your voltage if you have any kind of power running, trust me i know.

well im not planning on the alt underdrive pulley, just the crank one. Shounlt affect voltage much if at all.
learn somehting new everyday - not worth it them IMO for the small gain in HP that would never be noticed on my already high HP car (lol J/K - but still would notice it)

i'm telling you dude, its the underdrive pulley from hell.
its underdriving my alternator and waterpump at low rpms, causing me to overheat AND lose voltage.
i would advise if you do get the pulley, either get an overdrive pulley for your alternator or just don't run any heavy electrical items such as a sound system.
I got the car back today. Its was done on tues but we had to wait for a new EGR tube (from upper intake to EGR) to come in and the dealership was being a PITA. I got it back and the car pulls much better and longer than before. Feels really nice, not a crazy stop the presses kinda change but i noticed it. Car sounds louder to be honest with my post-cat cutout. Got a reall nice cam'd sound for a mild cam. I also got two really nice complements
leaving work an guy in his mini van pulls up next to me and says "hey man, whats under the hood?" i replied, "3.4l v6" and his reaction was just priceless, worth every penny. He has a 84 camaro 305 and he was shocked to say the least.
The second one was from the guy at wawa when i went to fill her up to see how much my MPG is going to change. I told him to fill it up regular and he stopped in his tracks, looks at the car (i have the SS hood/spoiler so that prob helped to confuse him also) looks at me and goes, " you really wana put regular in this beast???"
Which brings up the question, should i start to run super? I was reading somewhere that its all about compression ratios that decide the best gas to run...any thoughts ideas comments?
Ill get some sound clips and vids up when i get some time. This mod makes me really wana do the true duals now with the borla's. Most of the great sound is on the passanger side where the cutout is and i like it to all comout the back, prob gona go under the axle.
yea i noticed it. car pulls better and pedel feel lighter. Im happy. Id like to put it on a dyno but really dont know where to do that around me as of right now
