i found this 99 camaro engine with about 55,000 miles on it will it fit my 97 rs????

You would have to swap the intake manifolds and throttle bodies.

I would keep the angled TB and upper intake, the 97 TB's are eaiser to maintain when something goes wrong compared to the electronic TB's.

this would the upper part where it says 3800 series II and the tb would the in front of it connected right?

The upper intake, maybe the lower(don't know might need the 97 one) and the angled 97' TB.

It will work just fine, but you will have to use the upper intake and throttle body from the 97 because the 99 has an electronic throttle body.

ooo ok so i just swap the upper intake and the tb and im good to go will it trhow any codes or anything because of that or will it be all good

did you ever do this engine swap? does anyone know for SURE that using your pre99 intakes and TB will do the trick? i was thinking that a 99+ cluster wouldn't work in a pre99. i am about to do this swap and will need my instruments to work. thanks for any help

it worked fined the only thing i did was change the upper intake with the tb. everything worked out ok

the engine is the same, the only difference is electronically controlled throttle body and cable driven throttle body, and different exhaust manifolds. use the exhaust and intake from your car, and the engine from the other car, they will interchange. you will still be using your PCM which won't throw any codes and your guages will still work.
