  • 1.7 crane gold rocker arms

So I went ahead and ordered some 1.7 crane gold rocker arms from ftpp.net. Since most say the stock ratio is around 1.7. These are stud mounted with roller tip, just thought it would be nice to get some nice rockers. With my VS cam it would put my lifts at .544 intake and .538 exhaust, but I'm running ZZP's modded steel retainers and Viton guides that say will give me an extra .050 clearance. I also self ported/polished the heads and had a valve job done with stock size SI valves. Any one else have any experience with these rocker arms?

I've never heard anyone talk about them... you might be the first around here. Let us know how they work out.

I think thats what I'll do is try them out when the new heads go on, I did the P/P and had the valve job done and the 105lb springs hold up to .600 lift so I think I'll gain a little more through the rpms , since I only shift it at 6000 rpms.

FTPP.net just raised the price from 298.00 to 399.00 on these rocker arms, from the last time I looked on their website, which was Sunday. So either they were priced wrong or they had alot of people ordering them and raised the price.

what is the part number on them? I can see if the price went up recently.

Probably had an old price and never updated their site until you ordered them, lol

what do yall think about the yella terra rockers? and what about the light weight rods. I don't know if they'd be safe for high rpm use. My cam that I'm plannin on using has the power band ending at 6,600 rpm's.

I have Yella Terra rocker and pushrods. They should be safe for high rpm use. I haven't had any problems. Make sure to upgrade the springs as well.

I had some light weight pushrods from intense and when I swapped them out after 5 years , I think 8 out of 12 were bent or warped. Meatyshells and I then put in Comp 5/16 pushrods ,Comp 105 springs and ZZP steel modded retainers in(him doing most of the work, thanks again Ryan). The car felt totally different , car pulled harder and just felt alot better. If your going to be adding a power adder or reving high I wouldn't go with lightweight pushrods. If your cammed I would def. not do lightweight pushrods, this is just from my experience with them.

Looks like Ftpp.net has to contact Crane to see if I can use our 5/16 rocker arm bolts with them, they use a 3/8 bolt. They said the pushrod side can take up to a 3/8 pushrod, so will see what they say . I think they will be refunding my money because everything I read seems to lean toward they use a 3/8 rocker bolt. I'll post when I here anything else.

I don't believe those were ever meant for use on the 3.8, I believe those are 3.4 only
scratch that, THOSE particular rockers are meant for an LS1, they are not interchangeable. The 3.4 gold rockers have been around for some time.
