no this definitly isnt anexhaust leak,its coming out of the bottom end and its a tapping noise,its there when the car is cold and when its hotter then normal.

This sounds very similar to when my EGR was leaking but then again I don't exactly know what a lifter tick sounds like. Any abnormal semi ticking noise I hear now after fixing my exhaust leak I think is a lifter tick just from everyone talking about it.

how far down is it coming from? get a mechanics stethoscope and find it.. they cost about 6 bucks and that will tell you for sure what and where it is

Well i tried the old methods of finding noise(hose/screwdriver to ear) and its not coming from under the valve cover,it sounds like its coming from the drivers side about as low as the starter but in front of it.

i'd check your y pipe to manifold and y pipe to cat connections..

well i was just seafoaming my upper from the brake booster hose and when the car started to sputter i saw what seemed to be white smoke coming out of the bottom of the manifold,this isnt where the tapping is coming from but i think i solved the problem of the rattleing under load,would this rattling under load be caused by a leaking exhaust manifold?

I think I posted that the exhaust leak is what your hearing and it is not a lifter problem. Once you have fixed the exhaust leaks then see if you have anymore problems with a ticking sound.

to me it does sound like lifter tick but it is kinda fast for lifter tick unless you have several lifters bad.

I think i already mentioned it was a seperate noise from the exhaust leak,the exhaust sound is only there under load andis more of a rattle, while the other noise is there when i start the car cold then goes away and comes back after its hot and is more of a steady tapping noise,but im gonna put some headers on soon so that should fix the exhaust leak anyway and im gonna seafoam for the ticking
