  • 3.4l trouble

Alright so back in the summer, my car began pulsating, not through the whole rpm range but at idle, to about 2000rpms, and around 3500rpms it is the worst. The car shutters and moves when you take your foot off of the brake and gas and let her creep forward. Earlier my throttle body was throwing a code, but we cleared it and it hasn't come back, also it has a brand new cat, and muffler. it is a 1994 3.4l v6 A4, engine has about 90,000 miles, tranny has about 168,000 miles, any ideas what my problem could be?

what does it idle at rpm wise?

what was the code it was throwing?

does it feel like a misfire?

I think maybe you should get your throttle position sensor check with a multimeter and also your Idle Air control valve

I'm not sure what the code was, my mechanic said it was throwing one and didn't seem too concerned it was related to the throttle body, so he cleared it. It is idling at about 850 rpms according to the tach. What would a misfire feel like?

It will feel like the engine is stumbling, it will be going fine and then sound different and the tach gauge should move a little bit(most likely down a little and then back up when the misfire isnt happening) as it's not firing correctly.
