3.8 camaro ticking...

i have had a ticking noise for a few weeks now.. when it first started it went away when warmed up and then it started doing it all the time... I thought lifters... so i cnaged all of them along with pushrods... didnt make a dang difference... I had a mechanic look at it today and they think its the cam ... lobes worn or some crap like that... what do yall think... maybe a lifter has air in it?... could a bad knock sensor cause the ticking noise....


the noise is steady and increases in rapidness as i rev up... one lifter was indeed bad when i first changed them.. the retaining clip had popped out..

That's interesting, I had a lifter that lost a retaining clip also. It made a lot of noise cold, but usually went away warm. It also can and went.

I know you said you changed lifters, but that would still be my vote.
