We determined I have a bent valve because that is the only valve that was leaking air out of the intake port on the head when we hooked the air compressor up....and if you wiggled it, the air escaping would lessen a little...
I had this problem but only I didnt touch any of the valves to see if it would stop leaking but the air was leaking out on every valve (I could here air escaping on every valve really dont know where it was coming from). I may not of had a good seal on the fitting that goes into the spark plug hole though so I dont know. Watch out for the OIL PRESSURE SENSOR when trying to loosen the crank bolt that will be an extra 27 dollars if you break it like me.
Sometimes air will escape a little out of the intake and exaust ports; the valves don't make an exact airtight seal. Is it a little hissing sound, or does it sound like a rolled down window on the highway? Also, is this with the valve spring on or off? You mention you wiggled it, so I'll assume it's with the spring off. Try pressurizingthe cylinder with the new spring on, and try again. The seat pressure will probably resolve your worries.
I'd suggest getting a compression tester to confirm your worries once you get the car back together. You can always return it if you're worried about the cost :)
Driving with a bent valve is obviously not a desirable option, but it will still be drivable. However, you don't want to push the car too much; your valve springs will be putting more pressure on the valves, and combine this with higher cam lift and raised shift points could be disastorous. If you test the car and find that it does, infact, have a bent valve, I'd recommend you bite the bullet, pull the head, and get it resolved while you have the car torn apart. Look at it this way, the cost of one head gasket and necessary hardware will be cheaper than the cost of all the gaskets and such required to pull the intakes and heads off in the future. Plus, if you were to break a valve, you'd be looking at a new block :(
Once you get the flywheel locked, get a six point 1/2" drive socket on the crank bolt. Improv a breaker bar (I made one out of some spare metal pipe), so that you have a good 4-5 feet of leverage. If that doesn't work, hit it with some blowtorch heat.
See, these are just some of those unexpected things that go wrong, and set your project back. Did you get yourself a ride for Monday?
it sounded like a window down on the highway lol...that was with the old spring on, with it off, and with the new spring on...
God only knows how long the valve was bent and I have been driving it...
motherf*cking crank bolt took us 5-6 hours to get off...POS
I can't get those parts now, and I need the car....so fixing the valve is not plausible. I didnt plan for the down time for having a valve out because a valve is not something that bends during a cam swap lol...it is something that was bent whether I went into the engine or not...I just conveniently found out now that I am in there...
car should hopefully be fully back together by tomorrow.

plugs/coils
starter/bellhousing bolts
egr
valve covers and
balancer pulley left to put back on the car...then just put in oil/coolant...fire her up...swap in the tune I have already put together...make adjustments accordingly....annnnnd enjoy (without breaking that valve)
on a side note about the valve...I thought that if it did break I would only take out my spark plug, and possibly the other valve beside it? I didnt think it would take out the whole engine would it?
also, does anyone know if we have an interference motor or not?
edit: gotchocomilk...I one upped you...I didnt break the oil sensor...I busted off the coolant sensor...cost me 50$ with tax...lol
nice!!! well not really the valve could take out the engine though if it falls its going to be bouncing around with the piston and could take out your engine look at MEATYSHELLS thread of over at ftv6 his valve broke and took out piston and messed up his head and I think the cam went bad aswell. But could you tell if it was really bent how hard was getting the valve spring on that valve?
not too hard...was not any harder then the other valves...I suppse it is also possible that the valve is off the seat...the pushrods didnt really look bent...
Thing is, I cant see when this would have happened...car has never run hot (into the red)....the few times I hit about 6000rpm while figuring out the tuner I doubt would have caused this...plus I didn't hear any sounds coming from the engine...Car has ALWAYS been looked after...original owner and myself have always changed the oil at 5000kilometers, or 3 months which ever comes first...usually it has been the 3 months most of the time...
I got the car started....shut it down...went to throw a tune in....hp tuners said it cant find the vcm....now the car wont start...wtf???????
Check battery voltage. Check PCM fuse and such, try to get it running again. The pcm can compensate fueling to run the cam ok while you get the hardware issues dealt with.
runs pretty good...I need to replace the thermostat gasket...the one I bought didnt fit right...so I am leaking some coolant from that gasket...5 minute job that I will get to on thursday...wideband should be going in on thursday to...
But she runs like a champ...I let her rip for a second time since the install coming home tonight....steep incline doing about 40km/h...sounded like the tread on the tire wanted to tear right out....fish tailed like crazy on the onramp (no cars around)...I let out cause of no traction... she definetly has some nice power...lots of potential left to.
It degreed right on its mark...assuming we did it right...
I was expecting the idle to be lopyer then it is...sometimes it seems as if there is no lope even present, it sounds like it is just idling loudly
I definetly love it though...louder then before through out the rpm range

You can now officially add yet another v6 camaro to the list of cammed cars...hopefully I can pull some nice times with the cam and tune...
Now do a compression test to verify there something is wrong with the cylinder you suspect has the bent valve. It may have just been carbon stuck in the valve seat from taking the motor apart.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
