Oh and as far as i know the engine isn't in that bad of shape its got just over 110k miles on it and doesn't make any abmormal noises or knock
Im sure 97 will chime in but in my opinion the majority of people who blow engines is bad tuning or basic things like spark plugs and wires not being up to par. Just make sure your tune is spot on. I would do some research on wideband oxygen sensors...make sure you get one and mount a gauge in the cockpit where you can easily see it just in case so that if your engine goes lean you will see it. A lot of them have some kind of feature that lights something up when it goes past a certain point to make it easier to notice when it does in fact go lean. Other than that, if you are going to rebuild the engine using the stock parts and just replace the bearings, timing chain, etc check all the clearances and parts for wear or damage, make sure your endplay is within tolerances on everything. If everything is tight I dont see why you cant run a little boost on it...in the long run I plan on seeing how much I can safely run on mine. I would look into at least an aftermarket set of head gaskets for the boost. Maybe some heads studs.

97 Im sure will chime in here.

        Re: Lookin to rebuild

I think I read $900 somewhere for some lightly ported heads..

        OK found it:

        http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...=917&catid=109

Not sure what kind of results people are getting with those?

Thre was another one with the same price but they are hand ported I believe.

OK found it here it is...they are $1000 but flow SIGNIFICANTLY more plus another $300 and you get larger stainless steel swirl polished intake valves

Both have a core charge and ZZPdoesnt accept 96-97 castings though :(

I personally would have to find out what kind of results people are getting with both, but the Super Six heads seem like a muc better bargain.

Also,I forgot Abbott makes heads for ours too and they flow even better than the Super Six heads and are comparable in price...I would lean towards those myself actually.

zzp have some nice CNC'd heads for a good price. I run the abbott stage 3's on my car. Pricey but nice heads.
