I found some really cheap LT1 engines and wsa wondering how hard it would be to swap out my 3.8 and put in an lt1, and also what parts would be involved. I already used the search feature and found nothing about going back to the lt1, only forward to the ls1.

Re: Putting an LT1 into a 2000 3.8 L?
with a newer car like a 2000, you are better off either going ls1 or just buying a v8 instead of stepping back to an lt1. if you had a 93-97 car I would say go for the lt1
It can be done, but will take a pretty penny to do

There was a question sometime last year... maybe on another forum. Basically, it's more work to make the LT1 work than putting in an LS1.'99 Camaro
