Your right but how can it be done thru the bottom in a home garage? i dont have an auto lift and i looked at your guide archer, and it said that you use wooden blocks? Me and my dad are going to do it this weekend and im not sure how the people in the guide got the car jacked up so high without smacking the rear bumper on the ground. i do have an engine puller but i want to know how some people got the thing ip so high with jackstands alone? i dident mean to be an *** earlier srry...
you take the engine lift and wrap it on the radiator support with some chains. just like it shows in the picture. its how I did it and it cleared just fine. as far as the blocks I used them to keep the front end of the car up. I did 12 layers of 2x4s to make jacks.. as far as the rear, my rear end never touched the ground and it had stock springs with blown shocks.
you want to get the chain/ straps on the bottom of the car and keep it sorta tight. undo your bolts and what nots.. then just lift slowly and make sure nothing get caught or snagged. its seriously that simple. I have never taken a motor and trans out of a car before (besides a sportbike) and reading that link helped. course now ya have the other one with the white maro. its just too easy.

So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
