  • Who's got the bolt-ons?

so im thinking some pacesetter headers would be the direct to go on my stock 98 maro? any disagreements for some basic power upgrades around the same price /difficulty to install?

they arent the easiest things to install but it can be done with some scrapped knuckles haha. But i would suggest a cat back/intake first, then headers.

btw there is an intake/exhaust section. wouldnt classify headers as advanced engine :)

since you took your engine out, is it possible to put the headers on while its out, and put it in that way?

wouldnt be too hard i would think, and would save you the trouble in the future

Get the headers and catback, Take your intake lid off and cut the bottom part (the part still on the car under the filter, free upgrade). When you mess around with the air (intake and/or exhaust) You should always get your car properly tuned for it. You arent too far from me. Let me know if you need a hand. You can buy all the stuff and we can install it all within a few hours. I can weld up your exhaust too. and get it tuned with HP tuners that same night.

how do you tune it for headers, as in what would change with an HP tuner, and do you have one that i could plug and go for 20 bucks? :)

You could put the headers on while engine is out. If it is still out. I would recommend HP tuners for every one and every car that is compatible.

I have worked near FU but no exactly sure wear it is. Got mapquest tho.

              Sorry its been so long

Alluminum driveshaft, can get them cheap, decent upgrade. Doesn't add power, but does improve performance and acceleration a little.

Switch out the front sway bar for a Z28 or T/A sway bar, tightens up steering nicely.

Both of those are just a couple bolts.

Headers alone won't do much though, the stock cat is a bit restrictive, and the stock catback is 2.25", so the headers will probably just get choked there.

lingenfelter performance proved that the cats on our car are actually very efficient. i cant find the exact place, but it was something like on a 500 hp car removing the car was really only good for like 6hp, it was on a lt1 T/A.

DAmn. If I were you Id skip the slp and just cut the botom on the filter box out. You will suck up more air from more places. The slp is narrow and is restrictive. You can cut the bottom of the box and but panty hose on it for a pre filter. That will catch all the big stuff that can cause ristricions.

yeah, if you want a WIA (warm air intake) why put panty hose...the filter is right there...
