I figured it had something to do with the nitrous...I was just curious and making sure its not a clearance issue with milling the heads down...my intention was to mill the heads down to around a 10:4:1 compression, or possibly a tad higher (so long as I can get away with max 91 octane)

I wont be running nitrous though either so...

even though you say it won't run 11's without the juice...I better see some damn close timeslips to it lol...

His N/A #'s dyno's should be in the area of 240-260 I would think.

more then that...I'm going to guess in upwards of 280-290ish

Smokepanther dynoed 248rwhp cam only with that same cam...

and I am going to assume that because Travis is mod of the tunning section...he can tune...so he should be good...

248 is questionable since others with simialar or more mods dynoed around 230ish or less with it. Also depends on who dynoing it and what correction factors are used. Since smokes didn't have a A/F ratio on it, I wouldn't count on every person with the abbott cam to put out those #'s. Mine with the powerdyne would read out at over 400hp sometimes 500 TQ. Which we knew was wrong since the first dyno was 288hp and 330 TQ. It was hard to get a good signal sometimes so it took alot of running it and shutting it down. Like alot of people say you can take alot of cars and make the dyno look like their making more than they are, thats why I just went a couple of times with mine mainly to make sure my PLX wideband was pretty close to their wideband , which it was about .3-.5 off from theirs. But you have to take in account that mine is further up stream then putting it in the tail pipe. So the PLX was right on the money for A/F.

yes...but you also need to factor in tuning ability as well for other people, and all the work done right...even on the abbott website there 3800 made 271rwhp with stage 3 heads, abbott n/a cam and our stock manifolds ported and polished...

some people also dont degree the cam either...they just slap in the parts and go.

Kinda hard sometimes to weigh in what is done right and what is only half done...so many factors can effect the outcome both ways right...

I just like to remain optomistic...so my prediction is around 280-290 rwhp...:p we'll see how close it really is hopefully soon...

Re: Engine is back together! Carnage pics inside

                I would be happy with 265-270hp. :)

the dynotuning was being done at zzperformance the first time around but the bottom end just wasn't up for anything right from the get go. ZZP is literally 10 minutes from me so they are the closest with a dyno.

Right now I have 3.42s for gears, I am thinking of maybe 4.11s but I am going to wait until it is running good first before changing or thinking anymore about gears. I had a deposit down on LT headers also, but had them refund me my deposit after they did not come in last fall like they were suppose too. So sticking with pacesetters for now.

That's one good looking engine. Congrats on finally getting it together. I wonder, is there an advantage to having your intake similar to Holden V6?

intake similar to a holden v6? It IS a holden intake and tb setup. ;)

I have been told there is a better gain in low end torque. The upper and lower intakes are ported out as well as the tb CNC'd. So flow is there too.

                      We shall see. :D

BTW that supercharger setup you posted would put the supercharger into the fender of our cars. off to the side too much

I like that ATI SC setup nice and clean. Do you have anymore info on that THOR? I'm getting my turbo setup in all stainless and polished ALM. parts so it should look nice under the hood. I was hesitate about running my 3.73's with the turbo but I found online their on alot of guys with the GT35R running 3.73's putting down over 400 hp and almost 500 TQ at 12 PSI with full boost at 2800 RPMS and shutting down at 5700 RPMs. That made me happy.

Hey travis that looks cool. It seems like lance's last 2 builds blew up very fast. That engine would of looked sweet with my old polished alternator. Get that sucker in there now.

According to some dyno's the LT's didn't make anymore than the pacesetters, if they did it wasn't enough to spend $700 for them. I would def. look into some 4.10's or 4.56's if it is going to be a track only car depending on your tire size.

peak hp/tq might not be major, but look at the overall curve between both. They are definitely WORTH $700 when talking performance.

Car is not going to be a track only car, it is a cruiser and weekend track car. I have some DR's mounted on salad shooters for some bite at the track
