im a bit confused, did you just bolt the whole engine together without checking anything and try and run it?
yea isn't that what you are suppose to do? Just tighten everything down as TIGHT as possible, jam the cam in there and figure it is suppose to work? Then first start up take it for a WOT run with stock tune?
lol of course not. Nobody does that and expects it to run. lol that is funny you thought that though.

im not trying to be an ***, but i find it hard to believe you could put an engine together with the rods being the wrong size
maybe im just used to completely blueprinting the block and making sure everything is measured and within tolerable specs before anything is even bolted down finally.

sure sounded that way though, lol.
Lance Abbott from Abbott Racing heads built the shortblock, I personally did not build the bottom end. This is the second race engine he has effed up in the v6 community so I would say to stay away from having him do a build for someone as he hasn't done so well with the last 2-3 engines (andrew's wasn't as bad as mine and Linxs).
I had a local shop rebuild it for me this time around. They have done stuff for me in the past. I should have went with them in the first place, lesson learned there

ahh, ok i understand now
you would really think they would look into that stuff before putting an engine together.. its a little bit scary iMO
I hear that. If you are reputable and apparently do this kind of thing, before you even send the bottom end, it would be good to make sure it's run-ready. Of course no one just slaps them together (well, I'm sure there's those who do) but as a builder, it would be good to make sure of the clearances, considering when it's shipped and everything is torqued and ready, the guy finishing the install won't allow for more than a minute bit of movement, being that dry bearings hate metal-to-metal contact. Man, that really just sucks though. I hope this new build works out. Sounds like you picked at least someone you can visit during the process.
This is why it is good to find a good mechanic local. Mine was built 6-7 years ago and it has taken alittle abuse now and then. If it would of taken a dump the mechanic could fix it for free.

no, it wants to stall when I let off the gas. Not sure why yet. I haven't had time to mess with it in the past week due to being swamped with other things. I am going to try and get something done on it later this week maybe. It idles and revs fine though :) I have taken it around the parking lot and when I let off it cuts off.
