Re: Anybody on here have a stroked 4.2??

    ok im done.

    anyways sorry.

i just get upset at these kids who think they know everything because theve watched youtube videos on how to do it.

    btw.

    ngk's are the best.

    when you get the wired.

put boot protecter inside them. when you attach it TWO THE coils and plugs.

if you keer the connectors clean inside the wires.

    theyll last forever.

(ps the only reason its recommended to REPLACE wired. is because of corrosion.)

just prevent corrosion and "pricy" wires are quite a good investment.

Re: Anybody on here have a stroked 4.2??

as of last week Im now a diamler chrysler bronze certified technician. ok, so i do know a thing or two. and you can stroke an engine with out boring it, thats what the 4.2 kit does.

      sorry jrherald.

i have platinum in my car and was pleased with the results, but according to alot of techs and people on here they will cause problems, even though it may be 8-10k miles down the road, which i have yet to put on mine. but once im done with my engine i will be using ngk's.

Re: Anybody on here have a stroked 4.2??

yeah, i need like another 5 months to have my minimum 2 years shop experience to start getting ASE'ed. and its soo sweet cause the dealership i work for totally pays for any certification, like last week i sat down at a computer for about 6 hours and walked away with bronze certification (which means i am actually certified to work on any diamler chrysler vehicle (not stating that i know how, although i do pretty good for myself) at any dealership) and didnt have to pay a single dime.

thats pretty nice.....around here all the major dealerships wont hire you unless you have an ASE certification.....it sucks but oh well....

where you live at? we are hiring!! you must be from up north, cause apparently the economy is worse up there then down here. we are doing pretty good.

Kentucky.....ive tryed but what there offering sucks.......11.00 an hour for roughly 5 years or 1 1/2 years of college for 15,000 and starting pay at 20.00......so yeah almost double the pay to come in ready to rock.....and more if im a master tech..

i work on a bonus program, i get 400 a week base, then if i flag more than 35 hours i bring home 520, and over 45 hours it goes to 640, pretty sweet for a 20 year old!

My Dad was saying when he was getting ready to retire GM was trying to get rid of or cut back the older mecanics hour rate who have been around awhile , because some were making $30-$40 an hour and since they could just about cut book time in half on most jobs they would get 12-14 hours in a 8 hour day. The new mechanics would be assigned oil changes, small jobs and help the older mechanics so they could learn some shortcuts and get experierence, they started at $18-$20 for book time hours. The one mechanic had a Engineering degree but made more money being a mechanic, my Dad said he made over $100,000 a year and he enjoyed what he did and his wife was a Attorney, so they were well off, he was one of them that was laid off because he told them to go screw themselves when they said their cutting his hour rate. 20 years and they do that to him, they are cut throats most of the GM Dealership owners and higher ups are. I can't believe my Dad lasted 40 years. He would tell me your not working for a dealership, I'll call them and have them let you go.(He was serious too)LOL Hes the guy the GM Regional manager woud call if he had a problem at another dealership they couldn't figure out and my Dad would solve the problem for them. So I went into Law Enforcement.

That would be the best thing to do.

I don't know Andrew, his responses are pretty well informing.LOL And alot of laughs and entertaining, I was waiting for a flux capacitor to be mentioned in there somewhere in his posts, well maybe in the future.LOL On a serious note how are those TR8's working out for ya? Is that for high boosted cars? If I run a max of 10-15lbs of boost will the TR6's be fine? This is with a GT35R T3 with .63 A/R and 3" downpipe.
