    Looks good, I wouldn't reuse that balancer on there from the pic it looks rusted to hell and is probably dry rotted out. Also the other pullies look like they need some TLC. Good luck with your project. Post more updates, looks interesting. I might get a 03' Buick lasabre engine with 9,000 miles on it for $400. Just something to keep me busy after I finish the turbo project. Esp. if I can get 400-450 at the wheels with 10-12 PSI, that would be great. I should get my new 3 core all ALM. radiator with tranny connections next week, its 2" thick and supports 1,000 HP. Should be interesting how much cooler my car will run this summer with 115 degree heat with the turbo.

      yeah since mines a 98 and that ones a 99 theirs some parts im going to sell.....i really bought it for the heads,crank and block....id say the rest ill try to sell off to make some cash back....from the looks of the head gaskets nothing was blown and the pistons are tight in the block.....the walls look good also.....ill send the heads,block and crank off to the shop to get hot tanked and checked out before i do anything else.....

        How many miles were on it, good thing your not using the 99+ electric TB's I like my 96' TB where I can replace any sensor on it and also adjust my throttle cable to my liking. What all are you going to do to it again parts wise?

          104xxx ive seen alot worse out of less mileage....as for parts im not sure...this will be my first "performance" build and being this new to the 3.8 i really dont even know where to start except the stroker kit....hell i cant find bearings or anything internal except the valvetrain and cam......

            Do some searching , there was a member on here who was gettting one together but for a grand prix but the internals would also apply to you. I for get his screen name so I would just search stroker kit in all forums and see what you come up with , because I believe he had to sell it and listed the parts he had. Good luck

              ive found a local guy thats done a built short block for his gtp...hes going to tell where he got his parts from and do a list for me too.....i hope to have the engine built over the next 6 months or so......if all goes well ill shoot for a turbo next year..but im tore about going with an N/A build and then turn around and replace the pistons and cam for something more turbo friendly.....the cool thing is ill be doing everything except the machine work at school(buy school i mean college lol)

                Just do forged pistons in it the first go around with a 9.5:1 compression , you can still boost and put down good #'s. Mine right now with my Diamond 9.5:1 forged pistons is like 9.8:1 compression with my heads milled and I'm going to run 10-12 PSI and see what it puts down with a VS cam. So will see how it goes.

                      because you stated .60 over which is not doable with these engines. .30 over is really the cutoff. .40 over is really too much

                      your kidding, parts alone are going to be WAY over $1000 for a stroker engine. Cam alone is going to be 300-500 if you indeed did have a custom ground cam. Then pistons are going to cost you at least $600. then heads...rods, bearings, bolts, etc.

                        I just want to know how you tuned it for your gears and a cam with having a 96' pcm and a A4, the tranny wouldn't shift right or run right without the corrrect tune for them. Then dynoed 260 hp.

                          the water pumps and power steering pumps are MUCH LIGHTER than stock ones if you buy it from an autoparts store.

                          and yes the lunati cam was custom built.


                          i didnt want a MASSIVE lift and i heard lunati was a pretty reputable company. so i went to a race engine shop.

                          they had a device they took

                          LUNATI material and made me a custom cam.

                          I TOLD HIM around 2000 for parts and labor IF he looks around.

                              Molded intake (cold air intake) NOT manifold

                              pcm. (tuned)

                              CAM IS (street cam with just a tad bit more lift than the STOCK one.
