you dont need to remove the heads to do that
you basically need to remove the intake, the front of the engine (all of the accessories) the timing chain/oil pump, and loosen the rockers to remove the pushrods/lifters
you dont even need to remove the rockers

Haines manual explains everything pretty well... You do need to remove the rockers (technically speaking) since you need to change the bolts as they are tty...I suppose you can leave them sitting there though with the new bolts....they'll fall out of place if there is nothing holding them there though, and you might loose them, so I would just take them off....makes life easy...especially since 9/10 your going to need to replace your valvesprings for a cam swap and they will get in the way of the spring compressor.
