GM's 305 HP V6 - Is it possible to attain that in the 3.8??
i have 5k saved up, but most if not all will be going towards college .... i had hoped to get my camaro in the 300HP range, but it now looks like that is 6-10 years off...
so u can already run a 98+ ls1 camaro? sounds like it
I can't run with a LS1 right now N/A , I would be in the background, once turboed it will be a different story.

6-8 years you can prolly buy a V6 5th gen for $5,000 used...bought my 98' for under $5000 in 2002. Dunno what the retail price of a 98 4th gen was, but I'm sure the car will depreciate enough by then.
Re: GM's 305 HP V6 - Is it possible to attain that in the 3.8??
Depends on how much CFM the turbo puts out and how efficient the turbo setup is, Garrett has a calculator that calculates their turbos , from RPMS and how much boost you'll make in each RPM and how much the efficient it will be and temp. Most will see 20 HP per LB of boost around there if I had to take a guess.

But if your have a cam, headers, exhaust I think it would change the figures.

I know about the drivetrain loss, but still our cars with some good mods and weight reduction would be a good match for the new Camaro. Just saying 305hp isn't much compared to some of our cammed F-bodys and the weight factor. Mine stock weighed 3300lBS. So about 500LB difference = to about 50HP. Now mine is over 2900 with me in it , so almost 1000lbs with a driver in the New Camaro = 100HP difference. Plus better suspension and gears. So I'm not impressed about the new Camaro, once I'm turboed I'll go after the new Camaro Z28 & Camaro SS.
no z28 this year...just rs and ss

well, turbo is your exhaust, and since the intake is now pressurized, flow gains through port work or intake are not noticable...cam will however help alot.

Re: GM's 305 HP V6 - Is it possible to attain that in the 3.8??
Mine came out to about 400hp with 12 PSI. I don't think that calculator is accurate at all since it doesn't ask for how much CFM and what turbo like ceramic bearings and water cooled how big of intercooler for pressure drop. Mine came out to about 440 WRHP on Garretts website, and the garrett dealer also said I should be around 400 at 10PSI and over 400 at 12 PSI, since the turbo is well matched for my mods. This is why I went with a 31 X 12 X 4" intercooler and a 3 core radiator to help with the AZ heat to keep it cool.

blah blah blah, your so cool...im playin.
there really isnt a real world way of establishing gains except via dyno...all others dont take into account variables. such as tuning and other mods that would establish more power from boost.

Didn't know there is no Z28 Wow, so it is the SS then. My cam will flow alot on the exhaust side and with RK sport header with 1.75 primaries going to 2.5" pipes then into the Y with the 3" oval pipe to the turbo it should spool up quick. My upper/lower intakes and TB are polished and the heads are mildly polished. My spare sets are really ported/polished so if something blows they will be going on. The GT35R is one of the quickest spooling and effiecent turbos out right now and is water cooled, thats why I got it.

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
