Re: Replacing Cam Lifter stuck in Bore what to do?
I might have a slightly used stock cam if you want it. I pulled it out of a 25K motor when I bought it; everything else was in amazing condition. Can't remember if I still have it or not though; I'll dig around if you want.
Re: Replacing Cam Lifter stuck in Bore what to do?
smart move. Previous owner probably ran it low on oil, smoked the bearings, then the lifter went south. I bet the rest of the bearings are just as bad.
Re: Replacing Cam Lifter stuck in Bore what to do?
There is some sludge in the motor and the water pump was replaced maybe they overheated it and that set off an unfortunate chain of events. In any event the crank thrust surface is wiped out and the mains are scored, it is all at the machine shop now.

In any event if I had to buy a new crank I might as well junk the whole thing. Its barely worth the money that rebuilding this particular motor costs anyway.
