Has anyone ever used a carpet conditioner on their floor/floor mats?

I am going to be pulling all of the carpet from the car, take it down to the local car wash and spraying it down with pressure hose and some Resolve cleaner. However, the Resolve cleaner leaves the carpet feeling rough or even kinda crunchy in some areas.

Just wondering if anyone has ever used a carpet conditioner to soften out the pile strands. What brands...what results?

    Thanks

      Re: Carpet Conditioner

I didnt use Resolve cleaner, but I sorta did the same thing. washed it at a local carwash, used some carpet cleaning junk my mom had and rinsed it off real good.

In the end it smelled new and sorta looked new, but it was pretty much the same in my case. it wasn't worth it to me. I went and bought new OEM carpet from stock interiors.

maybe I just didnt do it right, just some thoughts. Gl with yours

I feel like I spent like 330 shipped for brand new carpet with form fit, custom embroidered floormats. I think it was like 190 without the floormats for brand new carpet. At that price, it might not be a bad idea to just get new stuff. It's a bit of work, but the look and smell is impossible to imitate with old carpet. Also the perfect chance to get a different color if you don't like what you got. I went from tan to ebony.

yep it was alot of work, taking the seats out, measuring the old carpet on the new carpet and cutting, hardest part is putting it all down and making it look right. but it was worth it, like schlotzky said, I went from gray to ebony.
