I agree with you man. Im not a fan of the phoenix on the newer cars.

However you know how the ramair hoods have the "black bird" stripes? Wonder how that'd look on the regular hood? I mean, it has the lil indentions for it, but I didnt know if they were sloped enough for the black bird stripes to look good.

definitely not. the ram air hoods look good with the black bird stripes because there is more than an inch of almost flat surface - the nostrils are sharper-cut. the stock hood's curves are way too smooth for that.
