  • Final Detail for the Year

    Hey all,

Just put my car away for the year. I bought a new car cover from CoverKing to protect it from the winters up here. She will also be under a carport to keep the snow and rain away.

    The detail went as follows:

    -Interior Vacuum/Cleaning
-Wash with Meguiars Gold Class soap
    -Claybar with Mothers Claybar Kit
-Wax with Meguiars Gold Class wax

And here she is! 40k on the clock, full bolt ons.
Hopefully this summer will bring gears, and lots of suspension parts.

Ridiculously clean car, dude! The paint looks incredible! The low miles shows! Looks like your missing the interior driver mirror bolt cover though. :P I really would love to do a dash conversion to the newer style, that's a great looking dash.

          Thanks man!

Doing the claybar, almost nothing came off. I thought more contaminants would be on the car, but damn, it was clean!

Yeah, that mirror cover drives me crazy!! I cracked it one day putting it back on.

Looks great. You need a new floor mat though!

The one thing I am having issues with is your grille. This is just my opinion, but I have two suggestions.
            1. Paint behind the grille black, and get a body colored bow tie emblem to put on the grille.
            2. Ditch the black grille and go with the regular one.

Oh yeah, those exhaust tips look good (nice and shiny). What kind are they?

Haha yeah, the tan interior tends to show a little more dirt than a black one. Interior conversion anyone?

And I am going to paint behind the grill black, and then get a bow tie emblem. I haven't seen a BMG one yet though. Only blue.
Eventually I'll end up getting a SLP grill.

The tips are 3.5' tips that came with the Magnaflow system. They stuck out far to much for my taste (a good inch or so), so I had a shop cut them back to the bumper and slash them.

I've seen a few black ones floating around. I'll let you know if I see one

                    car looks hottttt.

6litereater is doing a special on black powdercoated grills for like 75 bucks or something I dont know if hes still doing it though. I bought one the minute I heard about it lol.

As for the bowtie, I'm working on mine, I bought a bowtie for a chevy van and I'm going to weld the backside to the front of the grill and have the bowtie painted the color of my body.

if you decide to go with through on the carpet go to stockinteriors.com man. I got my carpet for maybe 200 ish?

I've heard good stuff about that place. Also auto custom carpets, or accmats.com i think it is. I actually ordered mine through the supplier of accmats, it was like 60% of the price of acc and still came in an accmats box. around 200 shipped sounds about right, but I added mats with embroidery, so it was a bit higher.

                        Thanks!

I'm sure there will be more where this comes from once spring/summer hits.

I've seen 6litereater's grilles, I just need the emblem! It's 85 bucks or something outrageous.

Thanks for the website for the carpet! Might as well add it to the wish list.

Yeah the grill he uses is really expensive. I got my grill off ebay for like 10 bucks shipped. Its off a 2005+ chevy van and it fix perfectly fine.

Bowling Green is not my favorite color on an fbody, but you convinced me that it's alllll GOOD!!

Good job. I bet you spent 5 hours or more cleaning it.

The color is Bright Metallic Green (BMG). Its got quite a sparkle to it.

And you got it on the head, 5.5 hours. 8pm-1:30am.
