My hinge has been broken for a while, and I'd like to be able to fix it instead of dishing out a lot of money for a whole new console lid. It's broken underneath in the rear where it swivels back and forth keeping it intact when you open it. Any suggestions?

How broken? pics?
if its just the hinge thats broken you can try to find one from home depot, I did that to mine since my hinge was rusted out and loose. Got new bolts for it too.

I'll try to get pics up tomorrow. Its the plastic underneath the lid, it's on a 93 camaro so I'm sure it's entirely different from the later model consoles. The metal pin is fine though...just that damn plastic lol. I'm thinking about buying a door hinge and bolting it on there.

I bet yours looks a lot like this:
That's my lid at the moment. I found a good buy on ebay for a NOS replacement, though. I'll be installing it come Spring.1996 Camaro. \"RedKnight\" on MOFBA.org.

It was New Old Stock... which they are when you find them anyways. The guy was selling his still in the GM box. I paid $100 for the lid plus 7 bucks in shipping. I had to buy a new hinge pin, though, since mine was missing since I bought the car. That cost me $10, including shipping. I know I've seen the lids recently on one of the sites for $115, which isn't bad considering what most are going for.1996 Camaro. \"RedKnight\" on MOFBA.org.
