  • Chrome stripping

Does anybody know if/how i could strip the chrome off my stock wheels to paint them or something? I've read some stuff about it and have heard sandblasting and some type of acid. I've been looking into DIY powder coating and it looks pretty cool. Just need to know about removing or prepping chrome

I've been thinking of taking my chrome rims and powder coating them translucent black, which would, I'm thinking, give them the appearance of black chrome.

I'm thinking I'll take in a nice chrome license plate frame first and see how it turns out, but if it works I'll definitely do it.
