The outside of my drivers side door is loose. The thin exterior panel with the weather stripping pulls away from the window when I tug on it due to the body panel glue coming loose.
What kind of glue should I use to seal the door? Also do I have to do anything special like reseal the whole door? or just put glue on the part that needs it?
I had no idea the outside of the doors were held together with glue.
You and me both! I never knew...
I'd try some gorilla glue and clamps. If gorilla doesn't hold it, I don't know what else to recommend -besides welding. If the parts are plastic, you can look for a shop that does plastic welding.
-OR-, Start searching for a replacement door. It may be a cheaper alternative.
The third pic is how it looks when I dont pull on it. I just thought I had a bent door hook or something until I actually started trying to fix it.
I was looking at the gorilla epoxy but I don't know if it will be too thick for the door to be smooth with the rest of the body. I may just swing by a body shop and see what they would use.

If clamped, it'll probably foam-out past the body's lining without pushing the panel out of place. Clamping is essential! The dried up foam can be sanded with relative ease.
Ok, I forgot about this thread but since others may have same problem down the line I will tell you guys what happened.
First I used some sand paper to sand off as much of the old glue as I could to make a smooth surface. I then purchased some auto body glue from autozone or advance (don't remember) and put it down the crack in the door, and let it sit with some C clamps overnight. This was about a year ago and it still is holding strong.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
