i bought the parts car yesterday. so far ive taken the gauge cluster, rear bumper cover, wheels, dash plastics and rear end. i did the gauge cluster swap today. soldered in the right capacitor from the v6 cluster to the v8 cluster. works great. and the colors of the gauges are much nicer than the stock yellowish colored ones. i took the panel above the bumper cover with the z28 emblems and put that on today as well. just need to get some double sided tape for the front fender emblems. it will look like a z... but once i turn the key you know it isnt haha

please please please tell me you're not throwing z28 badges on a 3.4L...or anything but a real z for that matter.

Re: z28 gauge cluster in v6 car?

posing is a highly frowned upon thing in my book. i've got a lot of work put into my 3.8 to make it faster, but i also have an ls1 z28 --- it would be dishonorable to the ls1 if i threw Z badges on the v6 just because i modded it some.

if you want to clone it, by all means do so. but start by dropping a v8 in it, then you can call it a clone Z. i'm about to throw on an SS spoiler and hood once i change jobs, and with my current work ppl mistake my 3.8 for an ls1, so does that entitle me to throw SS badges on? not a chance.

for instance, one day i saw a ragged out, stock engine, base model v6 camaro weaving through traffic with nothing but cheap rims and a raspy exhaust --- the owner felt it was cool to have "turbo" badges all over the damn thing --- it was disgraceful and embarrassing. don't be that guy.

^^^ agree sorry man but it is a disgrace to the real cars that own the emblems
